A New Chapter in Taiwan-Vietnam Industry-Academia Partnerships Begins: WNC Joins Hands with NCCU and VNU to Nurture International Network Communications Talent

Hsinchu, Taiwan–August 31, 2022 – Wistron NeWeb Corporation (WNC) has joined hands with National Chung Cheng University (NCCU) of Taiwan and Vietnam National University-University of Engineering and Technology (VNU-UET) to launch an industry-academia partnership. On August 31, President & CEO Jeffrey Gau of WNC, President Fong, Zhang-Hua of NCCU, and Vice President Chu Duc Trinh of VNU-UET signed an international industry-academia partnership letter of intent via digital link up. At the Taiwan side, the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei’s deputy representative Tran Van Thuy was present at NCCU while in Vietnam, the head of the education unit at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam, Mr. Chu To-Ming, was in attendance at VNU to bear witness to the signing.
This Taiwan-Vietnam talent cultivation program will see outstanding Vietnamese students, as recommended by VNU, pursuing Master’s degrees at the Department of Electrical Engineering of NCCU. WNC will provide a two-year scholarship as well as employment opportunities at its global sites in Taiwan, China, Vietnam, USA, UK, Germany and Japan. Dr. Fong, Zhang-Hua, President of NCCU, said: "VNU-UET is one of the top universities in the field of engineering in Vietnam. Since 2018, it has had many interchanges with NCCU. WNC, meanwhile, is a leading network communications company in Taiwan, and thanks to the leadership of Dean Chan, Sheng-Ju of NCCU, opportunities for tripartite cooperation have opened up, promoting international talent cultivation and industry-academia cooperation. In addition to attracting more overseas students to the school, outstanding talent for domestic industry is also being recruited.”
